Highly Commended for Environmental Innovation of the Year
We’re proud to share that Climate Action Schools has been awarded Highly Commended for Environmental Innovation of the Year at the 2025 Waste and Recycling Industry of Queensland Awards.
This recognition is more than a plaque on the wall — it’s a celebration of what can happen when schools, students, and communities come together to imagine a better way forward. At the heart of our Logan Pilot Program were young people learning to think differently, act boldly, and take responsibility for the world they are shaping.
The results speak for themselves: over 75% of waste diverted from landfill, $27K+ in savings, and recycling quality reaching 99%. But the true impact goes beyond numbers. Students discovered their voices, teachers witnessed leadership in action, and communities saw that real change is possible when everyone plays a part.
For us, this commendation is a signal of hope and a reminder that education is not separate from industry — it is the seedbed where tomorrow’s innovators, leaders, and changemakers are growing.
Our vision remains clear: Redesigning Success: People and planet, thriving together. This award shows that we are not just preparing students for the future — we are inviting them to build it.
Thank you to WRIQ for recognising our work, and to every student, teacher, and partner who continues to prove that sustainability starts here, and it starts with us.
