The system · optional Sustainability Skills Centre

You bring it to life

We provide the system and train your team to run it. Setting up a physical Sustainability Skills Centre is optional and entirely up to you — how you apply the system is your call.

What your school brings

This is a co-design process — fit for purpose, and built around your school. No two schools are the same, and how you apply the system is up to you.

Co-designed with your team to suit your school.
  • One school lead/delegate — this doesn't take extra hours, just a change of behaviour
  • Your cleaning and operations team included from the first briefing — a little time upfront, designed to make their day easier, not add to their ongoing hours
  • An aerial map of your school
  • Your recent waste bills
  • Wifi access for your team
  • Curiosity, and an openness to change
  • A bin lifter in place, if you don't already have one — this can take time to arrange, so it's worth starting early (equipment isn't included)
  • Sign-off from your P&C or business manager to receive Containers for Change / circular income
Tell us what you want to get out of it, and we'll work together from there.
Where it happens · optional

A working space, not a recycling shed

The Sustainability Skills Centre (SSC) is a purpose-fit working space inside your school where your team recovers resources using industry-standard tools — cans, bottles, paper, glass, organics and e-waste. What used to cost you money to send to landfill becomes savings, and circular income for your P&C through Containers for Change.

Most schools have it running day to day within the first term — staffed by your cleaning and grounds team, with your CAS coach checking in along the way. It takes a little time to set up, but from there it's designed to make their day easier, not add to their ongoing hours.
