WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

We help Queensland schools stop sending money to landfill — and start putting it back into their school community.

Climate Action Schools embeds a working circular economy system into your school operations. Your cleaners, business manager, students and leadership all play a role. The system keeps running because it's built into how your school already works — not bolted on top of it.

The question we hear most:

"Is this going to be a lot of work for our staff?"

Most sustainability programs rest on one passionate teacher — and stall the day that person is not available. We work differently. We improve the systems your school already has. The people doing the work help design the solutions. Set roles and simple written processes mean the system keeps running, whoever is on deck that week. A Climate Action School (CAS) coach walks beside your staff the whole way.

Redefining Success: Where people & planet thrive together

PEOPLE

Your team gains skills and recognition.

Your cleaners, grounds staff and business manager already do this work. We give them a system that makes it simpler, and training that makes them good at it. A cleaners briefing, standardised routines, and NeuroPower team development. At Shailer Park, teachers and cleaners solved the problems together — and one of those teachers was named in the national top six Teachers of the Year.

PLANET

Less to landfill, measured for success.

We measure what your school sends to landfill, then build a system to reduce it. Woodridge went from 1m³ of waste per student to 0.36m³ across 1,145 students. You get the numbers, so you can show your community exactly what changed.

PROFIT

Income back to your P&C and your students.

Sustainability only works when it pays its own way. Diverted resources become income - Woodridge returned $6,000 to their P&C through Containers for Change, money that goes straight back to students. The data also strengthens grant applications, and so far all of our schools have secured $50,000 on the strength of theirs.

You don't have to have it all figured out.

Every school starts somewhere.
